A man was terrified when he saw that the multimedia screen in his truck was picking up signals of “people” while he was driving on an empty road in the forest.

Dominic Armand posted a video on TikTok to report the scary occurrence. First, he showed his car’s screen picking up multiple signals of “people” passing around him.

Then, he turned the camera to the dirt road, showing it was completely empty. On the sides, you could see that there was nothing but trees on the path.

“I’m just passing through the dark forest and all, right? It’s almost getting dark. But it’s scary. My truck is saying there are people around,” Dominic said in the clip.

“There’s no one around me. But my truck says there are people,” he explained. Then, he demonstrated what happened when he braked: “Look, if I slow down, they catch up to me. See? Right next to me.”

Was Dominic’s truck really picking up “ghosts,” or was it just a technical issue? According to CarWale, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are made up of a variety of “sensors, cameras, and radars.”

According to the site, all these technological features work together to “monitor the environment around a car.” But the system is not perfect, so the car can end up picking up signals from objects as if they were people.

Previously, a Brazilian Tesla driver reported that his car identified an orange traffic cone as a little boy with a cap. Others have reported that the car picked up various signals of “ghosts” in cemeteries.

While paranormal activity enthusiasts might get excited by the possibility that their cars can pick up supernatural activities, the most plausible explanation is that the vehicle has difficulty distinguishing between people and tombstones, especially considering their different heights and shapes.

Tesla’s ADAS, in particular, is particularly limited by its excessive reliance on cameras. As a result, the amount of visual data entered into its system and displayed to drivers is not provided with enough information for accurate representations on the dashboard.
